Our customer contacted us to address airborne noises from his next-door neighbour. His home was built in the late 1800s but there was only a single skin of brick between the properties which coupled with lots of plasterboard on the walls from a renovation made for a very noisy home. Our customer felt like his privacy was being compromised and he was struggling to work from home in such a noisy environment.
As the home was quite tight on space, we opted for our Clip Direct to Wall System on all party walls but we replaced the first layer of the wall with a Fermacell cement particle board for added mass without losing additional depth. We cut into the internal adjacent walls and ran the new soundproofed walls straight across to reduce any flanking paths.
